In this article, we give you a comprehensive list of the differences between our Czepeku website subscriptions and Patreon subscriptions. We'll try to answer any questions you might have about the difference in content, tiers, and billing.
Available Subscriptions
The Czepeku website offers three Fantasy subscriptions (Maps, Scenes, and Tokens, also available in a bundle) and a Complete Sci-Fi bundle (includes Maps, Scenes, and Tokens—not available separately).
Note that there are three available subscriptions on Patreon: Fantasy Maps, Fantasy Scenes, and Sci-Fi Maps.
Available Content
The content on our website and Patreon is very similar, but there are a few website-exclusive releases. You can find a complete list below as well as a table that summarizes the differences.
Fantasy
- Maps:
- All variants are available on both the website and Patreon.
- Animated Day maps are available on both, but animated Night maps and other variations are website-exclusive.
- VTT-Ready maps: Foundry-ready maps are available on the website and Patreon, with EncounterPlus-ready maps being exclusive to Patreon. Moulinette integration is available on Patreon. A Czepeku Foundry module is included in the website subscription.
- Scenes:
- All variants and Day and Night animated scenes are available on both the website and Patreon.
- Tokens:
- Because tokens are accessed through a complex personalization tool, tokens are website-exclusive.
Sci-Fi
- Maps:
- All variants are available on the website and Patreon.
- Animated Day maps are available on both, but animated Night maps and other variations are website-exclusive.
- Foundry-ready maps are available on both the website and Patreon. Moulinette integration is available on Patreon. A Czepeku Foundry module is included in the website subscription.
- Scenes:
- Sci-Fi scenes are website-exclusive.
- Tokens:
- Sci-Fi tokens are website-exclusive.
Tiers
Patreon subscriptions are organized into tiers that grant access to different subsets of the available content. All of the Patreon subscriptions are organized in the same tiers (all tiers include access to the backlog of existing content accessible for that tier):
- $1 per release: day and night variations of each map/scene
- $5 per release: all variations of each map/scene
- $10 per release: animated maps/scene (day variant only)
The website subscriptions do not have a tier organization structure: each subscription costs $25 per month and is equivalent to the highest tier on Patreon. For example, the Fantasy maps subscription gives access to all the available Fantasy map content (all variants and animated versions), similar to the $10 tier on Patreon.
Billing
A big difference between our website and Patreon subscriptions is the billing model.
Czepeku subscriptions are billed per month you're subscribed, and all cost $25/month. The Complete Fantasy Bundle includes all three Fantasy subscriptions (Maps, Scenes, and Tokens) and costs $50/month.
Patreon bills per creation released while you are subscribed, and there are usually five releases per month. This means that if you are subscribed at the $5 tier, you will pay $25 per month unless you put a limit on the number of releases you want to support (but we ask that you don't go under two).
This means the best subscription for you depends on your needs: if you want animated fantasy battlemaps, you'd be paying $50/month on Patreon and would definitely be better off with a website subscription at $25/month. But if you only need the day and night variations, the $1 tier on Patreon might be more interesting for you.

Foundry Integration
Both Patreon and website subscriptions offer Foundry integration: if you're subscribed through Patreon, Moulinette, an add-on, makes it easier to browse the content available to you on Patreon in Foundry.
If you're subscribed through the website, you can use Czepeku's own module, currently in beta but widely used by our subscribers. To access the module, visit our Discord and select the appropriate role in #role-select!
Note: We are currently working on including other VTT integration options.
Patreon Discounts
If you have an early-bird discount on Patreon (for example, for Fantasy Scenes), you can link your Patreon account to your Czepeku account and get $5 off your monthly subscription.
Browsing / Download
Even if you're a Patreon subscriber, we recommend the Czepeku website for browsing maps and scenes to find what you need for your games. On each map page, the “Download map” button will link to the relevant Patreon post for that map. Please note that downloading from the website is only available to website subscribers.
