As a Game Master, you want to provide the best experience to your players while keeping your preparation time to a minimum. Having illustrations for your encounters, whether they are friendly chats or epic battles, can take your TTRPG games to the next level and improve your players' immersion. With your monthly subscription to Czepeku Tokens, you will get access to the full catalogue of available tokens as well as more than 20 new tokens each month, both for fantasy and sci-fi tokens. You also get full customisation of each token: change the token's colours, add or remove accessories, pick your favourite frame and customise the background! You can try it here for free to get a feel of all the possibilities. In this article, we will explain how to personalise your tokens.
Choose Your Token
Visit the tokens database to choose the perfect token for you: do you need a perplexed Unidrone or a fancy Frogfolk Queen? Browse the hundreds of tokens available or use the search bar to filter by name or tags. In this article, we will use the Bugbear token so you can follow along with the demo if you haven't subscribed yet! If you don't want to fully customise your token, you can pick one of the presets on the left, or click "Randomize" a few times until you find something that fits.
Generate a Random Token
If you want a quick customisation option without changing each element separately, you can use the randomizer! Simply click on “Randomize”, next to either the presets for the tokens or in the top right corner, and cycle through the suggestions until you find one that’s perfect for you.

On the right side of the page, you can see the different sections of customisation: colours, accessories, frame, background and icons. We will guide you through each part of the customisation.
Change Colours
Click the palette and you will see all the available colours for your current choice of accessories. Each block can be expanded to display a few default colours, but if those don't match what you had in mind, click the colour icon with the brush and choose your own! You can move the cursors around or directly enter a hex value for your custom colour. You can also hover any of the other default colours to see what changes on the token.
If you start choosing custom colours for your token, they will also appear as "recent colors" in the colour picker.

On top of the "Colors" menu is the Lighting settings: you can change the strength and temperature of the lighting by choosing either a preset (warm, cool, neutral, bright, and dim) or customise the lighting yourself! Note that this is different from the "light" colour which is present in the majority of tokens, which usually is used for another source of lighting.
Change Accessories
Click the hat icon to change your token's clothes, weapons, hair, nose,… Once again, you can hover your cursor on any accessory to see the change in your token. Once an accessory is selected, the associated colours will be displayed in the block to allow you to change them again. If you remove an accessory, the associated colours will disappear from the menu. Be aware that changing a colour in an accessory menu might affect other pieces of the token (for example, the "metal" colour of a weapon might also be used for the metallic part of an outfit).

Change the Frame
Click the circle icon to change the token's frame: the more complex styles come with colour presets, but you can always change the colours by expanding the "Colors" menu.

Change the Background
Click on the background icon to personalize the background for your token. You can choose either a coloured background in the first box or a scenery in the second. The coloured background has the option to have a solid colour, a linear gradient, or a radial gradient. The gradients allow you to choose two or three colours, as well as the placement and strength of the gradient.
The scenery can also be personalized with preset colours or your own colours, in the same way as the accessories.

Share Your Personalised Token
Once you're happy with how your token looks, you can save your remix and share it with the world with a unique link by clicking the "Share" button at the top of the screen. You can then choose a custom name for your remix, and click "Save and share" to generate the link with all your choices saved. Please note that customisations are not saved if you do not save this link.
