Built around birdfolk, enormous ancient forests, and a spreading fire that threatens to consume everything, Humblewood takes players on a journey through one of the most charming and distinctive third-party settings in 5E.
Whether you’re running the full adventure or just borrowing its woodland whimsy, these twelve maps are our top picks for covering every major location in the book, from Meadowfen’s peaceful fields to the fiery heart of the Scorched Grove.
1. Meadowfen — Starter Village Series (Dry/Drought)

Meadowfen is where it all begins: a quiet woodland village that has been peaceful “for as long as anyone can remember”—recently rattled by failed harvests, missing trade wagons, and fire creatures venturing closer than ever before. When a wounded refugee stumbles from the north with news that the Grove has taken a town, the party’s adventure begins in earnest.
The drought variants of the Starter Village Series are spot-on for Meadowfen as the book presents it. The near-empty grocer’s shelves, dried-out fountain, and yellowed trees tell the story of a village under strain, painting the picture of a community that clearly needs the players’ help.

This illustrated scene brings the interior of the shop to life, capturing the coziness—and desperation—of a village store that has seen better days.
2. Winnowing Reach — Yggdrasil Village (Island Village Swamp)

Winnowing Reach is the first proper stop after Meadowfen—a research outpost on the edge of the Mokk Fields, built to support slime-wranglers and researchers heading into the nearby caverns.
This swamp variant of the Yggdrasil Village captures that waterlogged character perfectly. It’s worth noting that the original, non-swamp variant of this map is a completely different and equally gorgeous map, making it a great pick for any other ground-level woodland villages you might need throughout the campaign.
3. Ashbarrow — Battlefield Bridge Brigade

Ashbarrow is a hillside town whose destruction sets the entire adventure into motion. The party first hears about it as a survivor staggers back to Meadowfen to deliver devastating news: “the Grove has taken an entire town.”
While the players are not there to witness the fall of the town firsthand, this Battlefield Brigade map gives DMs an option to show, rather than tell, the destruction. Whether as a flashback, dream, or camera-panaway, seeing Ashbarrow burn can turn an abstract threat into something much more visceral.
4. Mokkden Caverns — Secret Cavern Hideout (Slime Infestation)

The Mokkden Caverns are the first proper dungeon of the campaign—a vast, largely uncharted network of caves beneath the Mokk Fields. The party is sent here to find a missing researcher who hasn’t come back—simple enough, until they see what’s down there. (It’s absolutely infested with slimes.)
It’s rare to find a map that matches a unique location this closely, but the Slime Infestation variant of this Secret Cavern Hideout map is suspiciously perfect for an offshoot of the Mokkden Caverns.
5. Alderheart, Trunk & Hollows Districts — Treetop Dungeon (Village)

Alderheart is Humblewood’s most iconic city, built inside and around a massive living tree. The Trunk Market and Bright Hollows districts are its chaotic and busy middle layer, home to markets, inns, and taverns—and, by the time the party arrives, a swelling population of refugees displaced by the spreading fires.
This Treetop Dungeon Village captures the labyrinthine, massive nature of this trunk city in a way few conventional maps can—giving DMs a versatile base for everything the book describes, from tense street-level investigations to chance encounters with thieves.
6. Alderheart, Branches District — Fairy Treetop Village

Up above the trunks, Alderheart’s canopy is its grandest and most prestigious district—home to the Birdfolk Council Chambers, courthouse, Perch Guard headquarters, and many affluent neighborhoods.
This Fairy Treetop Village brings the soaring canopy district to life with exactly the right combination of grandeur and airiness. Just remind your players that this is really not the place to fail a Dexterity saving throw!

An animated scene puts players at eye level with the Branches and Boughs districts in all their visual splendor.
7. The Avium — Great Library

The Avium is Humblewood’s mystical, magical college. The adventure sees the party here to investigate a string of strange occurrences—between books with pages torn out and unsettling noises, something is very wrong in the library.
The Great Library map series is a collection of sixteen maps, covering every corner of any magical library, from the lobby and map room to the orrery and bestiary. Great for the Chapter 4 investigation, these maps are sure to make the Avium feel like somewhere with real depth, real secrets, and real corners for the disguised necromancer big bad to disappear into.
8. Odwald’s Secret Laboratory — Alchemy Dungeon

Odwald’s hidden chamber is the payoff of the Avium investigation—a secret laboratory where he’s been conducting illegal necromancy experiments in a desperate attempt to stop the Aspect of Fire.
This Alchemy Dungeon map gives this shocking reveal the dramatic space it deserves, with morbid equipment and ritual arrays that give the party plenty to examine and piece together. Whether the party comes in swinging or tries to reason with Odwald before the cobblefright gets involved, this map provides a stunning backdrop for both approaches.

This animated scene gets players right into the heart of Odwald’s work, with ritual circles and sickly lanterns reinforcing every terrible decision that went into the building of this place.
9. The Ancient Forest — Overgrown Magic Forest

The Ancient Forest is a dangerous shortcut to the Avium—a stretch of primeval woodland where gigantic 60-foot-tall trees form a canopy that blocks out almost all sunlight, and the undergrowth tangles around every step.
This Overgrown Magic Forest map absolutely nails the ancient, ethereal beauty of this stretch of woodland, giving your players’ travels a sense of awe and wonder—right up until the forest prowler drops from the canopy above, at which point the forest becomes a different kind of unforgettable.

This animated scene puts the forest scale front and center, giving the Ancient Forest all the grandeur it deserves.
10. Talongrip Coast — Birdfolk Village (Coast)

Talongrip Coast is a distinctive stretch of coastline in Humblewood’s setting, where birdfolk settlements cling to cliff faces, chiseled directly into rock and connected with wooden platforms and walkways.
The coastal variant of this Birdfolk Village map is a great visual break to the forest-heavy rest of this article, and perfectly captures the rugged, cliff-carved character of Talongrip’s coastal perches.
11. The Ashsnake — Yggdrasil Tree Roots (Lava Pool)

The Ashsnake is the big threat of Part 3 of the adventure—an enormous molten snake lurking beneath the ashen surface of the Scorched Grove, brought to life as a “manifestation of the great Aspect of Fire’s rage”.
The lava pool variant of these Yggdrasil Tree Roots is a visually breathtaking match for this encounter, from the coiled serpent that looks like it could swallow the party whole, to the molten terrain that depicts the supernatural heat of the Scorched Grove.
12. Crucible of Fire — Ancient Tech Treasury (Hells Vault)

The Aspect of Fire is the ultimate antagonist of Humblewood—an immortal elemental entity whose energies have seeped into the Scorched Grove over centuries since the Great Calamity; and the final confrontation is the payoff of everything the campaign has been building toward.
The hells version of this Ancient Tech Treasury map absolutely earns its finale slot. The vast chamber, burning arcane artifact, and lava cascading on all sides sets the stage for a final battle exactly as dramatic and enormous as an immortal elemental force should feel.
